"What do little kids think? Watch a little kid experience something for the first time and write what you think is going through their head. Their first ice cream, first snow ball, first fish caught, first walk barefoot through the grass. Or try one of them yourself and try to imagine what it would be like if it was YOUR first experience."
I remember alot of my nephews first experiences. I lived with my sister when Tristan was two - three years old. I saw him grow alot. When I didn't live with them I still ussualy saw them on a daily basis. I saw him experience alot of things, but none I remember as well as his first lemon.
He was around 3 years old. Me and some others, mostly nephews and neices. were eating lemons. We were pouring a little salt on the lemon and then licking it. It sounds weird, I'm not sure if other people do this, but we did. Tristan was asking to have a lemon, and he wanted salt on it. I tried to do it for him but he just kept crying and saying he wanted to do it himself. So I let him. I knew he would put too much, but he deserved it, he was being a brat. He poured a ton of salt on it, and licked it all off. He just looked at me and I could tell it was way too sour. He starts jumping up and down with this look on his face as if he just ate 100 war heads. Then he did it. He dropped the lemon and started licking the carpter floor. It was the funniest thing at the time. I guess he tried to rub the salt off by licking the carpet.
