driving

So I decided I was going to go take my driving test this morning. Might have been a bad idea. I think I was a little premature on that. I still have hardly gotten any practice driving, I just assumed I could pass it. I was wrong. I went up there with my brother and my mom. My younger brother went before me, he passed. Im glad he passed but its kind of depressing. I knew he was going to pass though. He has been driving his girlfriends moms SUV for about 6 months without a license. I guess she thinks he has a license but hes a good driver. Anyways, my turn finnaly rolled around and she asks me if I have contacts in or if im putting in my glasses. I completely forgot my glasses. So I ended up having to drive back to my house and get my glasses. I finnaly took the test and failed miserably. I passed the only part I was worried I would fail, which was parralel parking. I pretty much got nervous and FREAKED out and utterly forgot how to drive. I kept forgetting to check over my shoulder for switching lanes. I took a turn a little too fast and the instructor flew around like a ragdoll... she jolted off of everything though it was rediculous and it pissed me off bad. I would barely hit the brakes and she would jolt forward like I slammed on them. Then I forgot to use my blinker when we did parrallel parking and uphill parking. I didn't realize but I guess I was hugging the mid divider line, and she said I consistently went 2-3 miles over the speed limit. I was really upset because I know I can drive better then that I was just so nervous. I'm glad I took it though because I feel that now that I know exactly what I did wrong I won't do it again.

  1. Thomas, Well, now you have the nervous part over with and you can pass with confidence. Don't freak out and certainly don't let some driving examiner flip you out. I didn't pass my first time either. It is a pretty funny story I will share with you some time. ~Ms. A
